Donating to the Abangoh Orphanage

On the 10th of August 2019, Mother Africa International embarked on its first life-changing mission, visiting the Abangoh Orphanage, located in the heart of Bamenda, in the Northwest province of Cameroon. This orphanage stands as a beacon of hope for hundreds of vulnerable children whose lives have been shattered by violence and the ongoing war in Cameroon. The conflict has left many families broken, with countless children becoming orphans, often losing their parents to the devastating effects of war. As the violence escalated, the orphanage saw an influx of children, with the number of residents swelling to an alarming 300. Sadly, the orphanage has struggled to meet the overwhelming needs of these children, many of whom are desperate and vulnerable, lacking even the most basic necessities. When Mother Africa International learned about the dire situation at the Abangoh Orphanage, we knew we had to step in and make a difference. Understanding the profound impact that essential supplies could have on these children’s lives, we organized our first relief mission.

Restoring Dignity, Giving and Hope

On our visit, we brought much-needed supplies that included clothes, blankets, food, feeding bottles, shoes, and books. These essentials were carefully selected to address both the immediate and long-term needs of the children, ensuring they had warmth, nutrition, and a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos.

With a population of around 300 children, the Abangoh Orphanage was facing immense challenges in providing for each child individually. We were honored to contribute to alleviating some of this pressure by ensuring that almost every child received vital items, such as clothes and shoes. The joy and relief that these children expressed upon receiving their new supplies was a testament to the impact of our efforts.

Join the community to support orphaned children with essentials and give them hope for a better future.

This mission marked a pivotal moment in the history of Mother Africa International. It was a reminder of the organization’s core values: to serve and uplift those in need, particularly the most vulnerable members of society—children. It was also a call to action for everyone to recognize the urgent needs of orphaned children in conflict zones and the power of collective compassion to bring about positive change.

As we reflect on this meaningful mission, we are reminded that the journey to making a lasting impact is just beginning. Mother Africa International remains committed to continuing its efforts in supporting orphaned children, advocating for their rights, and ensuring they have the opportunity for a brighter future, despite the adversity they face.

We believe that every child deserves a safe environment, the chance to grow, learn, and thrive. Our visit to the Abangoh Orphanage was only the start of what we hope will be many more initiatives to bring hope, support, and dignity to those who need it most.
